trouble. officers left the eastmont substation in oakland with one mission in mind, to prevent a repeat of last sunday when a crowd of a thousand people gathered at international boulevard for an illegal side show. >> we have a large number of people coming from outside the city of location, from stockton, and modesto, and sacramento and other cities to have essentially illegal activities. >> reporter: part of challenge police say is that side shows are not just side shows anymore. it's become all sorts of illegal activity as we saw last sunday when people set fire to an ac transit bus and looted a big rig. people also shot dozens of rounds of into the cripples the neighborhood from being able to communicate or leave anything. kids can't play or access their front yards. the gunshots are extremely dangerous. >> reporter: police say part of strategy this weekend is having more officers on the

streets and having tow trucks ready to go if cars start to block an intersection. at the time oakland city council has backed assembly bill 410 in the legislature to slap large fines on side show participants, impound their cars for a month, and make even watching a side show a crime. the city councilman gallo represents the district where the side show happened last sunday, and he says he supports a more aggressive approach to stop side shows. >> it's not about criminalizing anyone, it's not about racial profiling, it's about protecting the people. be aware, your car will be tois still ugh the legislature. gallo is scheduled to testify in front of a committee tuesday to voice support for the measure. >> all right, monte francis,

thank you. new tonight, four shipping containers at the port of oakland caught fire earlier sending up black smoke seen for miles. there were no immediate reports of injuries. oakland firefighters were called to the report around 6:45 this evening on a report of an explosion and fire. more than a dozen firefighters responded within minutes. >> what made the incident difficult was due to the high amount of fuel that was inside of all the containers and the tightness of it, and so eventually what we did, we applied some foam and also applied some water from the top. m the top. >> the battalion chief said the containers had food products and possibly ajax inside. the fire was controlled in about an hour. the cause is under investigation. now to south san francisco where police fired shots early this morning after one of the men rammed two patrol cars with his truck. police say one officer was injured and treated at a hospital and released. police sayluhele construction equipment. n equipment.

police say the driver then rammed two patrol cars and drove off. the two other men tried to run but were caught and arrested. the driver was arrested later in brisbane. all three suspects were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. the death toll is rising after terrorist attacks in sri lanka that targeted christians celebrating easter sunday. at least 390 people were killed, and 450 others were injured. there was no immediate claim of responsibility according to authorities, but so far 13 people have been arrested. here's more. here's more. >> reporter:a series of coordinated terror attacks across sri lanka putting the on lockdown t easter sunday. they targeted luxury hotels and churches. >> we could see a white smoke coming out and the helicopter

any way they can. it was an emotional easter in paris today. the fire of notre dame left the beloved landmark closed possibly for years. today those that hoped to worship there this easter had to find other places to attend services. the firefighter that is fought the cathedral fire were honored at services. the arch bishop also prayed for a swift reconstruction of the ancient church. in northern california, people impacted by the massive camp fire weren't forgotten this sunday. white pony express has en helping the community for several months, supplying them with food and clothing. today they provided a special gourmet easter picnic as well as treats for children and a special memento to take home. >> one of the main things we'll is take family after the fire for the >> the g delivering ready to eat meals

and fresh produce to people. they deliver about 400 meals a week. a large easter celebration was held at glide memorial church in san francisco today. people of all different backgrounds were welcomed for the easter service along with a meal. ith a meal. new mexico is issuing a state of emergency over the border. they say they've seen a spike in crime and illegal drugs since border check points were closed in late march. >> i believe it's a direct result of having our check points shutdown. the state of emergency is just a shout out to cry for help to get our check points back open. >> reporter: mexico is under pressure from the trump administration to stop the flow of central american migrants before they reach the u.s.-mof oakland is rolling out a new program tomorrow to address chronic illegal dumping in east oakland. tomorrow the county supervisor and volunteers will pick up trash around the area of 90th avenue and g street for two hours. the idea is showing how much garbage is piling up on city streets. it will also include telling residents how to report illegal dumping and getting rid of trash in east oakland.

new tonight a hang glider pilot died this afternoon after falling into the pacific ocean. it happened about 4:00 off the coast of pacifica near devil's slide. a helicopter crew pulled the man out of the water and flew him to a nearby bluff where attempts to revive him were not successful. he was pronounced dead at the scene. his name hasn't been released as yet, but authorities say he was in his 40s. the san mateo county sheriff's department is investigating the accident. tonight authckets for saving two hours after they tipped over. they were 21 years old, and were rescued last night about two and a half miles from where their kayak capsized and they called 911. authorities used boats and helicopters and an infrared camera to search for rs all right, we're heading for a week like we haven't even all year. we had the warmest day of the year last week, but this week we'll see the warmest day of the year and maybe the warmest

week in bulk. this high pressure will be significantly working its way through the week which means fog should be patchy at the coast the next few days and returns in earnest before the end of the week, but that's before the fog returns and we see temperatures on wednesday that could reach the low 90s. patchy fog at the coast now, but it will gone tomorrow. the next 48 to 72 hours. then it comes in, that's towards the end of the week. in the meantime overnight lows chilly. that's just because we had a weak system go through yesterday and that has left some cooler air in the area. as you look live outside you can see really fog there, but there is fog towards montera. most everyone is back to school tomorrow, i think most people are, and most people back to work as well. early morning, you get going out the door, it will be chilly. 49. ends up warm though. san francisco for crying out

loud, san francisco gets up into the mid-70s, or low 70s and even mid-70s in some places away from the microclimate. 72, downtown san francisco tomorrow. places like san jose, 80s, and we'll see even mid and upper 80s inland. these are the temperatures. oranges are 80s, yellows are 70s. reds would be 90s. i think that's a little optimistic on this computer model, but with that said you see the footprint. even at the coast, pretty warm. so tomorrow will be stunning. tuesday will be pretty nice too. wednesday really nice, the warmest day of the week. thursday, it's going to be a great week. 86 in clearlake tomorrow, as well as vacaville. temperatures inland in the upper 80s, bay upper 70s. beautiful, warm day. tree pollen trending high. you'll be bothered tomorrow if you have allergies. and along the coast temperatures in the upper 60s, even low 70s. so the five-day forecast peaks the temperatures on wednesday with low 90s.

gas prices are going up. the average price of gas in the united states has gone up more than 13 cents in just the past two weeks bringing the national average to $2.91. one of reasons is an increase in the cost of oil. over the past month prices have jumped nearly 60 cents, excuse me, prices have jumped nearly 60 cents over the past 14 weeks, 25 cents in the past month. the highest y area. the cheapest spot is baton rouge, louisiana. new tonight, lyft stock tumbled sharply since the initial public offering tradr $58 a share. we spoke with one driver that's been with the company since the beginning but won't be seeing the bonuses offered to some drivers. >> >. when people get in my car they're like wow, this is an awesome car, man. >> reporter: and that's the
